Homer Pro v1.4 is ready for a few good testers. I am looking for a couple XP testers and particularly a couple Vista testers. First come first serve.

• Hide Homer at start up.
• Runs under limited user accounts.
• Full install/uninstall.
• Reports total “hits” versus actual “Images served”.
• Better java script handling, no or very few script errors under IE.

Greetings,

Long time no blog activity! But back now with a beta.
This beta brings the ability to retrieve the current file date
of HpHosts and MVPs Hosts files so you can compare it
to your last download date (also reported).
In addition, the color changing of HostsXpert, which it could do
since v4.0 though never mentioned :)  will now be ”remembered”.
Both changes result in the creation of an ini file that will
appear in your HostsXpert directory. Oh also - a slightly
larger file size, ie. new components needed
to be used for the file date checking.

And there you have it. ver4.1 beta 1. There are some other minor changes and improvements as well. No help file in download.

beta 2 Changes:

-Faster and smaller.

-**Vista UAC Ready. If trying this on Vista - Just run it.

You should be alerted regarding Adsministrator rights from the Git-go.

Ready for download 3-25-2007

Changes to HostsXpert 4.0:

-Completely new interface. Should help with all screen resolution/DPI/font size setting combinations.
-Better download function, including update to HpHosts preferred download URL.

-Will now allow downloads even with DNS Client running. User is still warned if it is running.

Notes-for 98SE thru Vista.

Vista - right click on the .exe and choose “Run as administrator”

98SE - MemoPad is automatically disabled due to compatibility problems
